We are all aware of the concerns occurring in the world right now regarding COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus. As we navigate many sources of information concerning this, we wanted to share some overall thoughts as to how we as a church family can be wise and thoughtful in our response. There are a lot of questions and speculations surrounding the Coronavirus. We are unsure what the next few weeks hold, but we want to take precautions for the health and safety of our congregation. Our desire is to provide a safe environment so we can worship Jesus together as a community.

Based on the information we know right now, we are still preparing for our Sunday service as planned. As we do so, we want to make you aware of the attention we are giving our facility, so that it is a safe place for our Family Church family:

  • Beyond the typical weekly cleaning, all surfaces used during last Sunday morning, as well as Monday and Wednesday night services have all been thoroughly cleaned (e.g. giving kiosks, check-in stations, door handles, chairs, railings, etc.).
  • We've instructed our ushers and greeters to not shake hands.
  • In addition to our weekly sanitation, our nursery spaces and children’s classrooms have received additional attention to minimize the spread of germs.
  • You may want to consider giving online or text your amount to 316-333-7223 to begin the process.
  • If you or your children are experiencing any symptoms identified by the Center for Disease Control (CDC): fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other cold/flu symptoms, or you’re uncertain about your health, please stay home.
  • The most important thing to do, to help reduce the spread of germs is to wash your hands with soap and water. It is a simple action with a huge impact!
  • Continue to follow the protocols established by the CDC and the KDHE (Kansas Department of Health and Environment).
  • We know our people love one another, but we strongly encourage a different greeting during this time of heightened awareness and concern.

Finally, let’s remember that we are followers of Jesus, and that He is not surprised by anything happening around us. Additionally, we believe that “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7). As believers, we choose not to live in fear but to trust in the God who has proven His faithfulness. Our peace is found in Him alone.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)
